Albany, Ore. — At approximately 2:00 a.m. Albany Fire Department responded to a fully involved haystack on fire. The haystack was approximately 50 to 70 feet wide by 300 feet long. Firefighters chose not to use water to extinguish the fire due to power transmission lines being in the vicinity. Crews are allowing the fire to burn itself out. The fire is being investigated by Oregon State Police and the Oregon State Fire Marshall.
